The struggling Mets are looking forward to start the series against Milwaukee and snap the losing streak that reached three games now. Behind one of the most in form pitchers in the MLB, the visitors must shake off the poor form caused by the numerous injuries and win the opening match.
Nieve's last start was nothing short of impressive and he lead his team to a clear 11-0 thrashing of St Louis and he has a good record against the Brewers as well. Add to this the outstanding ERA of only 1. 31 and you get the picture: a red hot starter that can shut down the hosts offensive.
For Milwaukee playing in front of the fans is no longer a reason to rejoice, but instead a cause of concern following the 4 defeats in a row. It's most unlikely that the Brewers will rebound behind Looper, a pitcher that is still looking forward for his first victory in June, but seems unable to retain it.
The odds are incredibly high for the visitors, whom I trust to win the opening match of series despite the few injuries that trouble them.
