Wigan -6. 5
That was a huge win for Wigan last weekend at HKR and they can back it up by covering the start against Quins.
Its been a pretty average season so far for Wigan. That was only their 8th win in 18 games but we know Noble does have a great record at getting his sides to peak at the right time and in super league the 1st few months are not so important as long as you make those play off places.
There is little doubt Wigan have the quality to take on the top sides its their attitude which can be a problem. There is a lot of foreign players in that squad and at times, like the defeat at Celtic, they dont fancy it. Still, last week we seen local lad Sam Tomkins come on as an early sub for injured Smith and his performance was outstanding. He lifted the side and controlled the game. Hooker Mcllorum was also superb and will hopefully keep his place.
Quins can be a very tough side to play against at times. Not always pretty to watch but very hard working and a side full of players who fight to the very end. 5th position in the league is a fantastic return at this stage of the season as to be fair, their squad on paper is possibly not even of top 8 quality. McDermott is a fine coach, he gets the very best out of the guys he works with.
We seen them lose last week at Wakefield to an injury time goal kick and Leeds ran riot in London the week before. Possibly the London side wont travel to Wigan with morale sky high but we know they will scrap more than ever.
They are still missing a couple of very important players in Dorn and Purdham at the moment due to injury.
Its only a short break for Wigan but i believe they will build on last weeks win. The crowd should be right behind the Warriors after a brave performance last week and i expect them to fly out the traps. There is plenty of power in that forward line, Fielden, Paleaaesina, O'Loughlin, Coley, Hansen, McIlorum, Prescott, too much for Quins.
When they get on top Wigan are a very tough side to stop. Tomkins has just signed a new deal and his confidence will be sky high. We should also see a big game from Carmont as Quins have struggled to defend on that side of the park in quite a lot of games this year
Its a fixture the Warriors have a nice record in so hopefully thats going to continue.
Wigan -6. 5 to beat Quins with sj at 1. 83
