The odds in this match are fairly surprising to me and probably set by the standards of Baghdatis beating Hewitt in their most recent clash last week. However, not only that particular contest, but also my general impression of these two players is, that they are very even in their games and while Baghdatis a more solid baseline game, I would consider the better defensive player with a far superior movement.
On the base of rating both player very even in means of their skill level, I think Hewitt should have a clear advantage here because his schedule has been so light compared to Baghdatis. The Cypriot has played a lot of matches right at the start of the new season and although there were no signs of injuries, he is still just returning on tour and is sure to feel his legs right now. Against Ferrer, he was basically dead and buried and looked very tired in the first two hours, but found his energy later on. Today, I think fatigue will be an even bigger a factor against a very smart opponent who understands to move Baghdatis around.
Good Luck
