D1 - Football - Macedonia - 1. Division

Struga are the leaders and main candidates for the title. They had a series of three games without a victory, but all of them finished in stalemate. One of these three games were exactly against Makedonija Gjorce Petrov (0-0 at the end of February). Maybe that's the reason for higher odds on Struga now, but anyway.

Struga obtained a very important 2-1 win against biggest rivals Shkupi on Wednesday. Shabani and Besart Ibraimi scored the goals for the leaders, both from the penalty. Shkupi officials were not satisfied with the decisions, they had a press conference about referees last week, but Struga won three points. What I want to say is that home advantage is very important here. Of course, I don't expect penalties on every game, but I am sure the referee Trpcevski from Kavadarci will be under heavy pressure if the result are not good for the hosts. He is not experienced like Stavrev (arguably the best Macedonian referee with FIFA badge) and I doubt he is able to resist the pressure.

But there is another reason for my pick. The situation in Makedonija isn't perfect. Coach Muarem Bajrami left the club last week and they are without head coach. His assistant Dzangarovski will lead the team in the meantime. Struga are closer to the victory.
