Liverpool and Darwin Nunez were top stories last weekend. The Red managed to beat Newcastle at St James Park with Nunez's brace in the finish. However, they paid a high prize for the victory. The key defender Virgil van Dijk has been shown a straight red card and he is now suspended. To be worse, the second central defender Ibrahima Konate is injured. That means Joel Matip and Joe Gomez should start in the heart of defense. Liverpool failed to kept a clean sheet in the opening three rounds even with Van Dijk and Konate, not to mentioned now.

Aston Villa were destroyed in the opening round as they lost 5:1 to Newcastle United. But there was a strong reaction after. The Villans have recorded two wins in the next two rounds, scoring four against Everton and three against Burnley. Emery could be satisfied with the current result, as his team also secured two high victories against Scottish Hibernian in Europa Conference League playoff tie. Villa won 5:0 in Scotland and 3:0 in Birmingham. The players confidence is very high at the moment. I think they are able to upset the Reds.
